Statistical Computing
I am member of the core development teams of
- R:
-
an open source
implementation of the S language. The R core team is a group of
individuals located in Austria, Canada, Denmark, England, Italy,
New Zealand,
Switzerland, and the U.S.A., who collectively develop the R base
distribution. To support further development of R and
open source statistical software in general we have created the R Foundation, where
I currently serve as secretary general. Kurt Hornik and I
maintain the
Comprehensive R Archive Network (CRAN),
where you find R itself, more than 1200 extension packages
(contributed by users worldwide), additional docmentation and
other tools that are useful in combination with R.
- BioConductor:
- an open
source software framework that will assist biologists and
statisticians working in bioinformatics, with primary emphasis on
inference using DNA microarrays.
- Omega:
- a platform for exchange
and development of new
ideas for computing with data.
